What we collect

Details you give us, such as your name, email address and phone number, and anything you tell us through our Create Your Expedition form or by email, phone or WhatsApp, for example your interests, destinations, travel dates, group size and special requirements.

If you go ahead with a journey, the traveller details we need to arrange it, such as names, dietary needs, and any medical needs or diving qualifications you choose to share.

Basic website usage information collected through Google Analytics, such as the pages you visit, your device type, your approximate location and how you found us. This does not identify you by name.

How we use it

To reply to your enquiry and design and quote your expedition. To arrange your journey with lodges, reserves, guides and operators. To keep our website working and to understand how it is used. To meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed with the partners who deliver your journey, such as lodges, private reserves, dive and surf operators and transport providers. We also use service providers for website hosting, email and analytics. We may share information where the law requires it. Some of these providers, including Google, are based outside South Africa, so your information may be processed in other countries.

Cookies and third parties

Our website uses Google Analytics cookies to count visitors. You can block cookies in your browser settings or use Google's opt-out browser add-on. The interactive map on our home page loads map tiles from a third-party provider, which receives your IP address when the map loads. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own privacy policy also applies.

Keeping it safe and how long we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We keep it only for as long as we need it for the reasons above or as the law requires, and we delete it on request unless we are legally required to keep it.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. To do any of this, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).

Children

Our website and services are not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children without a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
